Keynote: Understanding What You Do!

This year’s keynote speaker for the 54 annual Therapeutic Recreation Institute is the talented Emma G. She is a renowned TEDx Speaker, Singer/songwriter, and Youth Empowerment Coach who harnesses the power of music to motivate, uplift, and empower audiences worldwide. Born with a rare neurological condition called hydrocephalus, Emma G has used music to recover from multiple traumas, including ten brain surgeries, by writing and singing her truth, sharing her experiences, and turning her lessons into blessings. With a unique style that marries the styles of pop, soulful ballads, and a gritty rock edge, Emma G appeals to a diverse audience. She has a mission of saving the world one song at a time. Emma G is a teacher, lecturer, Youth Empowerment Coach, and an award-winning musician. Music is an incredibly effective tool for transformation: helping us to overcome struggles, trauma, and stress with songs of resilience, self-love, and stepping into one’s power. In addition to her Keynote presentation, Emma will also lead a session on songwriting later in the day.
